The Federal Reserve extends the consultation period for improvements to the stress testing program, giving banks more time to provide feedback.
Jinse Finance reported that the Federal Reserve has agreed to give large banks more time to submit comments on certain aspects of a proposal aimed at improving stress test models for major financial institutions. In a statement released on Friday, the Federal Reserve said that the deadline for public comments on the proposal to enhance stress test models, as well as scenario transparency and accountability, would be extended by one month to February 21. The Fed stated that the deadline for comments on the proposed 2026 stress test scenarios remains December 1. The annual stress tests were introduced after the 2008 financial crisis to strengthen the banking sector's ability to withstand future economic shocks and to assess banks' performance under hypothetical recession scenarios. Banks have long pushed for modifications to the tests, claiming that the testing burden is excessive.

Trump: Zelensky Must Agree to the US-Supported Peace Plan
Jinse Finance reported that U.S. President Trump stated in a media interview at the White House that Ukrainian President Zelensky must agree to the U.S.-backed Ukraine peace plan, otherwise the conflict will continue. Trump recalled his previous conversation with Zelensky in the Oval Office, saying that he told him at the time, "You have no cards to play." He stated that Zelensky should have reached an agreement "a year ago, two years ago." When asked about criticism of the peace proposal, Trump did not respond to specific terms, only saying that if Zelensky does not accept, "then they will keep fighting," but the current scale of casualties on both sides "has not been seen since World War II." Earlier on the 21st, Trump had stated that he believed the 27th was the deadline for Ukraine to accept the U.S.-backed peace plan. (CCTV News)
