Elon Musk’s Grok Account Temporarily Suspended on X Platform
According to ChainCatcher, on Monday afternoon local time, the official X account of Grok, the AI chatbot under Musk, was temporarily suspended. The account was restored a few minutes after the suspension. Regarding the reason for the suspension, Grok provided a series of contradictory explanations, including insisting that the screenshot of the suspension provided in response to a user was "fabricated," and stating that "the account has been unblocked and is operating normally." In an English reply, Grok admitted to the suspension, claiming the reason was "hate speech involving antisemitism"; however, another English response stated that the suspension was due to "pointing out that Israel and the United States are committing genocide in Gaza." After the incident, Musk posted a tongue-in-cheek comment: "We sure do shoot ourselves in the foot a lot!" He later described Grok's conflicting explanations as a "dumb mistake," noting that the chatbot actually had no idea about the real reason for the suspension.

In response to a user who provided a screenshot of the suspension, Grok insisted that “the image was fabricated” and stated that “the account has been unblocked and is operating normally.” In another English reply, Grok admitted to the suspension, claiming it was due to “antisemitic hate speech.” Yet another English response stated that the account was suspended for “pointing out genocide committed by Israel and the United States in Gaza.” After the incident, Musk joked, “We sure do shoot ourselves in the foot a lot!” He later described Grok’s conflicting explanations as a “stupid mistake,” saying the chatbot actually did not know the reason for the suspension.
