What is the Loot Project (AGLD)?
The Loot Project is a unique open-source NFT project created by Dom Hoffman, the co-founder of the video-sharing platform Vine. The project attracted massive attention after being endorsed by Vitalik Buterin.
In 2021, the Loot Project was introduced on Ethereum and 7777 NFTs out of 8000 were released for free to the public, which meant that people only needed to pay gas fee to claim the NFTs. The remaining NFTs are for the contract deployer.
Later that year, Adventure Gold (AGLD) was launched by a community member as a native token of the project. Every Loot NFT owner was airdropped 10,000 AGLD for free.
How Loot Project (AGLD) Works
The Loot Project does not have a team, image, or intended functionality. It consists of 8000 text-based NFTs that have randomized adventurer gear details written in white letters on black background. The NFTs are said to be open to interpretation, and can be used to build any stories, games, etc. in an uncensored and decentralized manner. The website of the Loot Project features a host of resources and tools for developers to create such projects.
Meanwhile, AGLD is expected to become the in-game currency for the games and experiences built on top of Loot. Some even want AGLD to be the governance token of the Loot ecosystem.

AGLD does not have a maximum total supply. Currently, there are 70,170,001 AGLD tokens in circulation.
