- 19:02Ethereum Foundation Releases Protocol Update 003: Enhances User Experience and Proposes Multi-Track Roadmap Through 2026Foresight News reported that the Ethereum Foundation has released Protocol Update 003, aiming to improve user experience. The update outlines a multi-track roadmap to make Ethereum "feel like a single chain again" and introduces a protocol update that prioritizes faster confirmations, trust-minimized cross-chain interactions, as well as new user experience and privacy tools on the second largest blockchain in cryptocurrency. The plan introduces three workflows, named "Initialization," "Acceleration," and "Completion," and announces deliverables and target dates extending to 2026. Under the Initialization workflow, Ethereum Foundation (EF) engineers and ecosystem teams are launching an Open Intents Framework, allowing users to express their desired outcomes. In addition, developers have proposed an Ethereum interoperability layer designed to facilitate trustless transactions across Layer 2 networks and have developed a set of standards aimed at reducing friction.
- 19:01The Ethereum Foundation will optimize the implementation path of its Ecosystem Support Program and has suspended public grant applications.Foresight News reported that the Ethereum Foundation has announced it is optimizing the focus areas and implementation path of the Ecosystem Support Program (ESP). As part of this transition, public grant applications have been temporarily suspended. This adjustment will give the Foundation time to redesign its grant model, shifting its focus toward strategic initiatives, moving from a reactive to a proactive approach, while also supporting the priorities of other Ethereum Foundation teams. The Foundation mentioned that it has continuously optimized processes and improved efficiency over the past three years. However, as a public grant program with limited resources and a broad scope, the large influx of applications has consumed most of its time and energy, making it difficult to allocate resources to explore new strategic opportunities. The Foundation will continue to fund Ethereum public goods and accept applications, but will adopt a new approach, with specific details to be announced in future updates. The optimized focus areas and implementation path for ESP will be announced in Q4 2025.
