MapleStory Universe Taps Chainlink Tech to Power New Cross-Chain DeFi Push
Quick Breakdown
- MapleStory Universe integrates Chainlink CCIP as its official cross-chain infrastructure on Avalanche L1.
- Chainlink Data Streams added to deliver sub-second pricing and high-accuracy data for MSU’s DeFi ecosystem.
- The upgrade enables the seamless movement of in-game assets across blockchains and supports future multi-chain expansion.
MapleStory Universe has moved to strengthen its blockchain infrastructure by integrating Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Data Streams on its Avalanche-based Henesys L1 network. The upgrade, now live on mainnet, positions the gaming-focused ecosystem for deeper participation in cross-chain DeFi and real-world asset applications.

Chainlink infrastructure becomes MSU’s cross-chain backbone
By adopting CCIP as its canonical cross-chain layer, MapleStory Universe gains access to a proven security framework built on Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network, which has previously secured more than $100 billion in DeFi value at peak conditions.
The integration enables secure token transfers across multiple blockchains via Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Tokens (CCTs), allowing developers to convert any ERC-20 asset into a cross-chain-compatible token without embedding new logic into the asset’s base smart contract.
CCIP also introduces programmable token transfers, allowing value and instructions to move together across chains, a feature designed to streamline complex, multi-step interactions into a single cross-chain transaction.
Data streams to power real-time DeFi applications
Alongside CCIP, MapleStory Universe is integrating Chainlink Data Streams to support applications that require fast, accurate market data. The feature delivers sub-second price updates using Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure and includes liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads for more refined risk modelling.
Chainlink Labs will support MSU with full integration and maintenance across its Henesys mainnet, along with technical guidance as the ecosystem expands into multi-chain interoperability.
The upgrade unlocks native cross-chain utility for MSU’s in-game assets, enabling them to interact directly with external dApps across gaming, DeFi, and real-world asset platforms. MSU aims to position its network as a scalable, forward-compatible infrastructure for the next generation of Web3 applications.
The team says the integration marks a major step toward building a more interconnected gaming and DeFi ecosystem anchored in decentralized trust and secure cross-chain architecture.
Meanwhile, Bedrock has upgraded its uniBTC security framework by integrating Chainlink Proof of Reserve, Secure Mint, CCIP, and Price Feeds. These enhancements automate reserve verification, replacing manual, delayed checks with on-chain safeguards embedded directly into the minting process, reinforcing security and trust for participants.
