CZ Wants an AI to Judge Court Cases — Then Pumped a Token 12%
Changpeng Zhao proposed funding AI judicial technology, disclosed personal Aster token purchase causing market reaction, and denied false reports about establishing a cryptocurrency bank in Kyrgyzstan.
Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) made headlines over the weekend with multiple announcements, including a proposal to fund AI-powered judicial systems and a personal investment in cryptocurrency Aster.
The billionaire also swiftly addressed false reports about establishing a private bank in Kyrgyzstan.
AI Judge Companion: CZ’s Vision for Judicial Technology
On November 2, Zhao proposed developing an AI Judge Companion system trained on written laws and past court cases to provide judgment recommendations for public cases. The former Binance chief explained that while human decisions can be influenced by mood, personal opinions, or political bias, an AI system could theoretically offer more objective assessments.
“While human decisions can be affected by mood, hunger (before or after lunch), personal opinions or political bias, etc, an AI should, in theory, be more objective,” Zhao wrote in his post.
Sunday builder idea: AI Judge CompanionTrain an AI on written laws and past cases. Then use AI to make judgment recommendations on every public case.Laws are public documents. Most court documents are public, including precedent cases, claimant and defendant submissions,…

CZ clarified that countries are unlikely to adopt such technology immediately. Zhao does not claim AI judges would necessarily be superior to human counterparts. He noted that their effectiveness would depend largely on training quality.
However, the tool could serve judges, lawyers, and individuals involved in legal proceedings. It could also provide data for prediction markets. Zhao expressed willingness to fund the development of a well-designed system, indicating the project would not require extensive resources.
The proposal drew attention from the cryptocurrency community, highlighting Zhao’s continued influence in technology innovation beyond digital assets. Legal documents and court proceedings are largely public records, making them suitable for AI training purposes, though implementation would face regulatory and ethical considerations.
CZ’s Personal Investment in Aster Sparks Market Reaction
Zhao disclosed purchasing Aster tokens using personal funds through Binance the following day. He emphasized his buy-and-hold investment approach rather than active trading. The announcement caused Aster’s price to surge approximately 12%, demonstrating the market impact of statements from prominent cryptocurrency figures.

“I just bought some Aster today, using my own money, on Binance,” Zhao stated in his November 3 post. “I am not a trader. My approach is to buy and hold.”
Full disclosure. I just bought some Aster today, using my own money, on @Binance.I am not a trader. I buy and hold.

He referenced his eight-year track record with Binance Coin. Zhao stated he purchased BNB during its initial token generation event and has maintained his holdings, aside from personal expenses. This long-term holding strategy contrasts with typical trading behavior in volatile crypto markets.
In a separate post responding to gold advocate Peter Schiff, Zhao pointed to Bitcoin’s performance data.
“Bro, there is a website called coinmarketcap.com. On it, there is the bitcoin one year chart,” Zhao wrote, adding that the timing was notable as it came one year minus two days after the last US election.
Just realized, 1 year (minus 2 days) after the last US election. What a difference! 🤷♂️

The comment appeared to reference broader cryptocurrency market momentum following political developments. However, Zhao stopped short of making explicit predictions about future price movements.
His response to Schiff, a long-time Bitcoin critic, highlighted contrasting perspectives between traditional precious metals advocates and cryptocurrency supporters.
Denial of Kyrgyzstan Banking Reports
Later on November 3, Zhao addressed circulating reports about creating a private cryptocurrency bank called “Bereket Bank” in Kyrgyzstan. Responding to a post by Coin Bureau sharing the news, he clarified that the article’s source was incorrect. Zhao stated he never proposed establishing a bank and does not recognize the institution name mentioned in media coverage.
CZ just clarified that the source of this article is incorrect. Here is the link to the article:

He acknowledged general support for banks working with cryptocurrency. However, Zhao emphasized that he was not interested in operating a banking institution. He suggested that his previous statements may have been interpreted incorrectly. He might have expressed hope for increased availability of digital banks supporting cryptocurrency rather than proposing to create one himself.
