As of November 2, 2025,

increased by 0.25% over the past day, reaching $411.54. Over the last week, ZEC climbed 30.8%, saw a 2.11% rise in the past month, and surged 634.25% over the previous year.

Electric Coin Co. (ECC), the organization responsible for

(ZEC), has released its roadmap for Q4 2025, prioritizing advancements in privacy, improved usability, and enhanced fund security. The plan highlights expanding sapling address usage to boost transaction privacy, resolving user experience challenges with Keystone hardware wallets, and upgrading the Zashi wallet’s capabilities.

The roadmap details four main goals for the year’s final quarter. The first is to enable sapling addresses for all ZEC swaps using the NEAR Intents protocol, aiming to strengthen privacy. The second objective is to automate the creation of new transparent addresses with each incoming transaction, which will help minimize the traceability of transactions. Third, the roadmap introduces Pay-to-Script-Hash (P2SH) multisignature support for Keystone hardware wallets, offering an added layer of protection. The final goal is to further improve the Zashi wallet’s user experience and address technical debt, while also reinforcing oversight of the development fund.

This approach supports Zcash’s fundamental goal of providing private digital cash by improving both privacy and ease of use. Emphasizing usability is crucial for expanding adoption, as intuitive features can attract more mainstream users to privacy-oriented wallets. The roadmap also demonstrates a commitment to careful development and risk management, with ECC noting that plans may be adjusted in response to market trends and community input.

Introducing temporary transparent addresses and rotating transparent addresses stands out as a significant privacy upgrade in the roadmap. These additions are intended to make it harder to link transactions across the network, thereby strengthening user privacy. For those using Keystone, the new P2SH multisig support will offer increased security and control over development funds, helping to ensure that governance remains strong and resistant to tampering.

The Q4 roadmap is being rolled out during a period of notable price gains and rising institutional interest in Zcash. Nearly 30% of the total Zcash supply is now held in the network’s shielded pool, indicating growing demand for privacy-focused solutions. Zcash has overtaken Monero in terms of market capitalization, suggesting a possible change in the privacy coin sector. Analysts believe that ZEC’s model of optional transparency gives it an advantage, especially for institutional players who want privacy without complete opacity.

Backtest Hypothesis
A suggested backtesting approach aims to study past ZEC price trends to spot patterns that emerge after sharp price increases. The hypothesis proposes that a daily price jump of 5% or more could indicate a buying opportunity for a seven-day holding period. Before testing, it’s important to verify the accuracy of the price data, as earlier attempts to retrieve data returned an invalid symbol.

This method focuses on detecting ZEC price surges and analyzing whether these spikes are followed by further gains. If the hypothesis holds, it could shed light on the short-term momentum factors influencing Zcash’s price movements. The backtest will utilize either a Coinbase-style ticker such as “ZEC-USD” or a Binance-style ticker like “ZECUSDT,” depending on which data source is confirmed as accurate.

With the roadmap’s focus on privacy and user experience, the timing of these improvements could also impact investor outlook and market trends. Should the backtest show consistent positive returns after major updates or market events, it may strengthen the argument for ZEC as a valuable asset in the privacy coin market.
