ANT.FUN completes acquisition of centralized wallet and payment product WhalePay
ChainCatcher reported that ANT.FUN announced the acquisition of the centralized wallet and payment product WhalePay on October 28.
WhalePay was previously founded by a well-known team and had received millions of dollars in investment, including from former executives of a major exchange. Its business covers centralized wallets, payment, and card issuance services. Reportedly, WhalePay has successfully issued hundreds of thousands of U cards and has an LTV of over 100 millions of US dollars.
ANT.FUN stated that after the full acquisition of WhalePay, both parties will integrate their technical teams and restructure existing products to optimize the wallet's usability and stability. Future product iterations will mainly focus on wealth management, payment, and asset management functions, and plan to support the x402 related protocol.
ANT.FUN pointed out that this acquisition aims to enhance the company's capabilities in asset management and wealth management, while also gaining access to WhalePay's original shareholders' traffic and business resources.
