Solana proposes p-token plan to optimize trading efficiency by up to 98%
ChainCatcher news, the latest proposal from the Solana Foundation, SIMD-0266, plans to introduce p-token as an efficient alternative to the current SPL Token program.
This optimized version utilizes zero heap allocation and zero-copy data access technology, which can reduce the computational unit usage of the Token program by up to 98%, and is expected to free up about 12% of block space for other transactions. p-token is fully backward compatible, allowing users to directly replace it without modifying their code. The newly added Batch and UnwrapLamports instructions further optimize common DeFi operation processes. Neodyme has completed an audit, confirming that p-token produces outputs consistent with the existing SPL Token program. This proposal will work in conjunction with other network optimization measures such as the 100M CU block to jointly enhance the overall performance and transaction throughput of the Solana network.
