Parhelion CEO plans to build a Prometheus statue on Alcatraz Island, taller than the Statue of Liberty.
Jinse Finance reported that Ross Calvin, founder and CEO of mining company Parhelion, has proposed building a "Great Colossus of Prometheus" statue on Alcatraz Island in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a height of approximately 450 feet (about 137 meters) and a total estimated investment of around $450 million. If constructed, the statue would surpass the height of the Statue of Liberty (about 305 feet from base to torch), making it a new landmark in the San Francisco Bay Area. To advance this project, federal government approval is required to reclassify Alcatraz Island from a national park to a national monument, as well as to obtain relevant planning and construction permits.
