OpenAI plans to invest $25 billion in Argentina to build Latin America's first "Stargate" project
Jinse Finance reported that OpenAI and energy company Sur Energy have signed a letter of intent to build a data center hub in Argentina, with an investment of up to $25 billion. This will become one of the largest technology infrastructure projects in the country's history. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated: "We will cooperate with SurEnergy, one of Argentina's leading energy companies, to launch the exciting new infrastructure project 'Stargate Argentina'." He described the project as "one of the largest energy technology and infrastructure initiatives in Argentina's history." The "Stargate Argentina" project will establish a large-scale facility capable of supporting next-generation artificial intelligence computing, with an energy capacity of 500 megawatts.
