As CEO of Slate Auto, Christine (Chris) Barman is dedicated to creating vehicles that are affordable, customizable, and beloved by drivers. Before launching Slate, she was global VP of strategic business development and solutions for transportation at HCL Technologies, and previously served as CTO for the Industrial Sector at Eaton Corporation.

Barman’s career at Chrysler spanned over two decades, where she held leadership positions in engineering, systems, and product development, and was instrumental in advancing autonomous driving, electrical architecture, and driver-assist technologies. She holds a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue and an MBA from the University of Michigan, and is committed to mentoring aspiring women engineers.
