X divides Verified Organizations into ‘Premium Business’ and ‘Premium Organizations’

On Tuesday, X revealed that its Verified Organizations subscription, previously aimed at businesses and government entities, is being renamed and divided into two separate plans: Premium Business and Premium Organizations. The Premium Organizations plan, which is tailored for governments and international bodies, will display a grey checkmark, while Premium Business, marked by a gold checkmark, is intended to support business growth on X.

According to X, the Premium Business subscription introduces new features to help organizations expand, whether they're startups, small businesses, or large enterprises. This offering is available in three levels: Basic, Full Access, and Enterprise.

X states that Premium Business is designed to help companies expand their presence on the platform by enhancing their credibility with a gold checkmark and boosting their profile through affiliate badges. The plan also features advanced tools to prevent impersonation and offers quicker human support for resolving issues.

Other features of Premium Business include hiring tools, real-time monitoring of brands and industries, access to SuperGrok, and additional resources.

X also mentioned that Premium Business subscribers will soon be able to access priority handles and browse a marketplace for acquiring “high-value handles.” In an email to TechCrunch, the company explained that priority handles are a selection of inactive usernames that Premium Business users can claim at no cost, while more exclusive or desirable inactive handles will be available for purchase.

The Basic tier of Premium Business is priced at $200 per month and provides essential tools for establishing a business presence on X. The Full Access plan, at $1,000 per month, includes affiliate management, expedited support, priority handles, impersonation protection, and early access to new capabilities.

For the Enterprise level, X offers advanced management tools, dedicated account support, and what it describes as “maximum support for your unique goals.” Pricing for this tier is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Meanwhile, the Premium Organizations plan is set at $1,000 per month.

X is also offering, for a limited period, a full rebate of the subscription fee in the form of advertising credits.

“X is the premier platform for expanding your organization’s reach and engaging directly with your key audience,” said Seth Fuchs from X Engineering in an announcement. “We’re developing solutions for organizations eager to move quickly, remain relevant, and grow within the global public square. And this is just the beginning.”

By introducing additional Premium subscription levels, including the more affordable $200 option, X appears to be seeking new revenue streams as it continues to face challenges with its advertising business.
