Hackers have infiltrated the systems of a software company, potentially compromising the personal data of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

In a new filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, Motility Software Solutions says 766,670 people are impacted by a major cybersecurity incident.

The firm says that an unauthorized entity gained access to its computer systems and stole personal data, including full names, postal addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.

“On or about August 19, 2025, we detected unusual activity within certain computer servers that support our business operations. An investigation determined that an unauthorized actor deployed malware that encrypted a portion of our systems. Although the malware primarily restricted our access to internal data, the forensic evidence suggests that, before encryption, the actor may have removed limited files containing customers’ personal data.”

Motility Software Solutions is a Florida-based firm that provides dealership management systems and other software tools to recreational vehicle and powersport dealers.

The firm says it abruptly sent letters of notification to affected individuals, while offering 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services through LifeLock, which includes credit monitoring, fraud consultation and identity theft restoration.

The company says it engaged external counsel and cybersecurity providers to support its response. At the same time, Motility is urging victims to remain vigilant for suspicious activity.
