UXLINK Hacker Scammed Out of Millions by Inferno Drainer

UXLINK Hacker Scammed Out of Millions by Inferno Drainer

The crypto world just witnessed one of the most ironic cases of poetic justice ever. The hacker who destroyed UXLINK and stole millions just got scammed out of millions by another group of criminals. You really can’t write this stuff.

Here’s what went down: the UXLINK attacker had been sitting pretty after pulling off a massive heist on September 22nd. They managed to hack into the AI-powered Web3 platform by exploiting admin privileges and made off with $4 million in stablecoins, some wrapped Bitcoin, and a bunch of Ethereum. But that wasn’t enough for them.

The greedy hacker then minted 2 billion unauthorized UXLINK tokens and started dumping them on exchanges, making about $28 million in the process. They probably thought they were untouchable at that point. Big mistake.

Enter Inferno Drainer, a notorious group that runs phishing scams as a business. These guys are pros at creating fake websites and authorization traps that trick people into handing over their wallet access. The UXLINK hacker apparently fell for one of their basic tricks and lost 542 million UXLINK tokens worth over $50 million.

The whole situation is absolutely wild when you think about it. This person was smart enough to exploit a major platform’s security flaws but dumb enough to get caught by the same type of scam they probably use on other people. One security expert even pointed out that the hacker fell for the exact same authorization tricks they had used against UXLINK.

Conclusion

This bizarre twist highlights the ultimate irony of crypto crime: even skilled hackers can fall prey to scams. The downfall reminds us that greed blinds, and in this world, karma moves faster than blockchain.
