Polkadot DAO passes proposal to set DOT total supply cap at 2.1 billion
ChainCatcher reported that the Polkadot (DOT) decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) has passed Referendum No. 1710 with an 81% approval rate, deciding to set the maximum total supply of DOT tokens at 2.1 billion.
This proposal will replace the previous model of a fixed annual issuance of 120 million DOT with no total supply cap, and stipulates that in the future, the pace of new DOT issuance will be gradually slowed by reducing the number of new tokens issued every two years.
