Tether announces expansion of USDT support to the Bitcoin network
According to an official announcement reported by Jinse Finance, Tether has announced plans to launch USDT on the RGB protocol (a next-generation protocol for issuing digital assets based on the Bitcoin network). The RGB protocol has recently been officially launched on the mainnet with version 0.11.1. It is designed to enable Bitcoin to break through its single attribute as a "store of value." By supporting private, scalable, and user-controlled asset issuance, RGB opens the door for stablecoins to achieve "native existence" on the Bitcoin network. For Tether, this means that USDT will be able to transact directly on the world's most secure and decentralized network (the Bitcoin network), providing fast, private, and lightweight payment services for billions of users worldwide.
