Trump Proposes Renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War
According to Jinse Finance, Trump announced on Monday that his administration may rename the Department of Defense (the Pentagon) as the "Department of War" in the coming days. He stated that officials are "very likely" to restore the Pentagon to its former, more aggressive name in about a week. Trump said, "When we won World War I and World War II, it was called the Department of War. To me, that's its true nature." In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly hinted at the possibility of reverting to the old name. At the NATO summit in June, he referred to Hegseth as the "Secretary of War." He said, "If you look at that old building next to the White House, you can still see the sign that says Secretary of War from back then. Later, we became politically correct and called it the Secretary of Defense."
