57.6 Million USDC Unfrozen in Libra Meme Coin Case Promoted by Argentine President
According to Jinse Finance, U.S. Manhattan federal judge Jennifer L. Rochon on Tuesday lifted the freeze on 57.6 million USDC assets related to the Libra Meme coin. The coin was promoted by Argentine President Javier Milei in February this year, but crashed within hours of its launch. The judge stated that defendants Hayden Davis and Ben Chow have cooperated with court proceedings, and there is no longer concern about the funds being transferred. She also expressed doubts about the plaintiffs’ chances of winning the case. This unfreezing means the defendants can regain access to these funds. Previously, the judge had frozen the assets in June after the plaintiffs sought over $100 million in damages.
