Thailand Allows Foreign Tourists to Exchange Cryptocurrency for Thai Baht to Boost Tourism Industry
According to ChainCatcher, citing Jin10 News, Thailand will relax regulations for foreign tourists, allowing them to convert their digital assets into Thai baht for travel expenses and consumption. Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira stated at a press conference on August 18 that the government aims to promote innovation and support the use of digital assets through the "Tourism Digital Payment" initiative, which is scheduled to launch a pilot phase within a regulatory sandbox for 18 months starting in the fourth quarter.
