Nvidia and OpenAI Both Enter the Web Browser Market
According to Jinse Finance, Perplexity AI, backed by Nvidia, announced on Wednesday that it has launched a new browser called Comet featuring AI-powered search capabilities, aiming to challenge market leader Google’s dominance. This move marks Perplexity AI’s entry into the highly competitive browser market, with the goal of replacing traditional internet browsing with intelligent agent AI that can think, act, and make decisions on behalf of users. On the same day, reports emerged that OpenAI also plans to launch an AI web browser. Data from StatCounter shows that in June this year, Chrome held a 68% share of the global browser market, solidifying its position as the world’s most widely used browser. (Yicai Global)
