US Treasury Sanctions Crypto Wallets Linked to Ransomware Involving $350,000
2025/07/02 04:53According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Cointelegraph, the U.S. Treasury Department has sanctioned a cryptocurrency wallet linked to Russia’s Aeza Group, which holds approximately $350,000. Aeza is accused of being a hosting service provider for ransomware and information-stealing programs, allegedly supplying infrastructure support for multiple cybercriminal activities.
The wallet is located on the Tron blockchain and serves as a management wallet for Aeza, used for receiving and transferring funds, and is connected to several sanctioned entities. The sanctions also target Aeza’s senior executives and affiliated companies, with related U.S. assets to be frozen and prohibiting U.S. individuals and institutions from conducting transactions with them.
