According to a report by Jinse Finance, at around 6 p.m. Eastern Time on May 28, the U.S. Department of State issued a statement saying that it will cooperate with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to begin revoking the visas of Chinese students, including those studying in critical fields. The statement also mentioned that the U.S. Department of State will amend visa regulations to strengthen the review of all U.S. visa applications from China and Hong Kong. After the U.S. Department of State released this statement, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio confirmed the news on social media.
