Trader Eugene: Bitcoin Remains a Key Allocation in This Week's Crypto Portfolio
Odaily Planet Daily News: Trader Eugene stated in his community that in this cycle, if a portfolio lacks a core allocation of Bitcoin, its risk-adjusted returns generally underperform traditional stock market indices (such as the S&P 500). Compared to the 2019–2022 cycle, where crypto assets significantly outperformed traditional assets, in this cycle, the compound growth of indicators like ETH, SOL, and TOTAL3 (the total market cap excluding BTC and ETH) has not surpassed the US stock benchmarks.
He believes that as the crypto market matures and public allocation ratios increase, the era of "achieving financial freedom through crypto assets" is fading. If one continues to hold only crypto assets in the future without allocating BTC or leveraging BTC, it may become a strategic mistake. Even in cycles with increased risk appetite, a 2x long position in BTC may outperform a single long position in other high-beta cryptocurrencies.
