Fitch: U.S. economic growth in 2025 likely to be lower than March forecast of 1.7 per cent
US economic growth in 2025 is likely to be lower than the 1.7 per cent forecast in March, given higher-than-expected tariffs, Fitch said. The upward pressure on commodity prices from tariffs means that the Federal Reserve may become more cautious about further interest rate cuts in the near future; and the ratings of a number of sovereigns with high levels of export value-added may come under downward pressure as U.S. tariffs rise.
