US media: TSMC may take over Intel's chip manufacturing business
On February 15th, according to US media reports, chip manufacturing giant TSMC may take over Intel's chip manufacturing business in the United States. The report said that according to informed sources, in response to the deteriorating business situation, Intel's board of directors began contacting TSMC at the end of last year to explore the possibility of cooperation. The negotiations are in the early stages and the form of cooperation has not been determined. TSMC may hold the majority of Intel's chip manufacturing business with other investors. It is currently unclear how much of Intel's manufacturing business TSMC will take over and how much capital will be invested. Informed sources said that the transaction between the two parties may be limited to Intel's production facilities in Oregon, Arizona, and New Mexico in the United States, as well as in Ireland and Israel.
