Eric Trump, son of US President Donald Trump, has been shilling Ethereum (ETH) recently, leaving traders to wonder whether frog-themed ERC-20 token Wall Street Pepe (WEPE) might be the best crypto to buy now.
“In my opinion, it’s a great time to add $ETH,” Eric Trump said in a Feb. 4 X post to his 5.4 million followers after the leading altcoin’s price plunged over 20% yesterday.
In the hours after the post, the Ethereum price surged over 6% from around $2,300 to trade at $2,767.46 as of 7:07 a.m. EST.
Trump Family’s World Liberty Financial Stocks Up On ETH
In addition to Eric Trump’s bullish stance on ETH, the Trump family also recently bought $10 million worth of the leading altcoin through their decentralized finance (DeFi) project, World Liberty Financial.
On-chain data from Arkham Intelligence shows that World Liberty Financial’s Jan. 31 ETH purchase has pushed the platform’s holdings in the altcoin to 66,239 ETH, valued at over $183.28 million at current prices.
This recent purchase also happened just 3 days after the Trump family’s project bought another $10 million worth of ETH on Jan. 28.
The recent tweet by Eric Trump and the ongoing ETH purchases by World Liberty Financial seem to suggest the Trump family has a strong liking for the leading altcoin.
This attention from the Trump family is clearly bullish for the Ethereum ecosystem and the spillover could benefit ERC-20 tokens. The blockbuster Wall Street Pepe (WEPE) presale is one project that is perfectly placed to benefit.
Wall Street Pepe Aims To Out-Whale Whale Investors
Wall Street Pepe is the standout presale of the year so far after sucking in an astonishing $68.6 million in a little more than two months at a rate of more than $1 million a day.
