U.S. President Trump posted on the "Truth Social" platform Sunday morning local time, stating that if Canada becomes the 51st state of the United States, it will be "exempt from tariffs!" The president wrote: Therefore, Canada should become our beloved 51st state. Canadian citizens will enjoy much lower taxes, receive much better military protection and - exempt from tariffs.
