Fed not discussing possibility of rate hike

U.S. stocks have fluctuated between modest gains and losses since the minutes of the Federal Reserve's December meeting showed that nearly all policymakers saw increased upside risks to the inflation outlook, according to financial website Marketwatch. The latest minutes showed that Fed officials did not discuss a possible rate hike in December. Officials believe that if inflation remains high, the Fed could leave rates unchanged or ease monetary policy at a slower pace.
