Wormhole Foundation: The FEG token issue is unrelated to Wormhole, the Wormhole contract is not affected
The Wormhole Foundation stated on social media that the issue with FEG tokens has nothing to do with Wormhole. All Wormhole contracts are completely unaffected by this issue and have no connection to it.
Previously reported, on December 29th, multi-chain DeFi protocol FEG (Feed Every Gorilla) announced on platform X that FEGrox is actively investigating irregular transactions and has asked PeckShield for additional support to find out the root cause. Preliminary investigations suggest a potential vulnerability in the wormhole bridge which had been audited before. It's important to emphasize that SmartDeFi contract code seems not damaged, and as a precautionary measure, the SmartDeFi protocol has been suspended; projects built based on this protocol remain safe at present.
