The U.S. dollar index, a measure of the greenback against six major currencies, rose 0.15 per cent on the day to close at 108.200 at the end of the market. 1 euro was worth $1.0394 at the end of the market in New York, down from $1.0412 in the previous session, while 1 pound sterling was worth $1.2532, down from $1.2535. 1 U.S. dollar was worth 157.32 yen, up from 157.10 yen, while 1 U.S. dollar was worth 0.9006 Swiss francs, up from 0.8985 Swiss francs, and 1 U.S. dollar was worth 1.4367. The exchange rate of 1 U.S. dollar to 157.10 yen, up from 157.10 yen in the previous session; 1 U.S. dollar to 0.9006 Swiss francs, higher than the previous session's 0.8985 Swiss francs; 1 U.S. dollar to 1.4367 Canadian dollars, lower than the previous session's 1.4372 Canadian dollars; 1 U.S. dollar to 11.0923 Swedish kronor, higher than the previous session's 11.0322 Swedish kronor.
