GOP lawmaker accuses SEC chairman of hiring based on political affiliation
U.S. House Republicans have launched an investigation into Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler, as three GOP lawmakers have questioned the SEC's hiring process, alleging that their agency may be hiring on the basis of political affiliation, allegedly in violation of federal law, and have asked Gensler to provide, by 5 p.m. on Sept. 24, all information on the SEC's Commission's assessment of an applicant's political affiliation or political ideology.
The SEC has yet to comment. (Cointelegraph)
