Harris did not directly accept cryptocurrency donations, but her PAC did
Coinbase CFO Alesia Haas stated on Wednesday at a Citigroup event that Harris "is accepting crypto donations," which seems to be a misunderstanding. A Coinbase spokesperson clarified that Alesia Haas was referring to the Future Forward USA PAC, which supports Kamala Harris, not Harris's campaign team. The spokesperson said: "Coinbase can confirm that Future Forward PAC has partnered with Coinbase Commerce to accept cryptocurrency donations." Currently, Harris's campaign website does not offer a way to donate in cryptocurrency. Advocacy group Crypto4Harris told Fortune magazine they were unaware of this development. Although Harris's campaign team does not directly accept cryptocurrency donations, Future Forward USA is a major source of support for Harris and this development could potentially signal Democrats' interest in cryptocurrencies.
