CKB Releases Next-Generation Public Lightning Network FiberNetwork Light Book and Will Go Live Next Week to Start Testing
CKB released a light paper on Fiber Network, a next-generation public lightning network built on Nervos CKB and off-chain channels to provide fast, low-cost and decentralized multi-currency support and peer-to-peer transactions for RGB++ assets. Similar to the Bitocin Lightning Network, the Fiber Network acts as a second-layer payment channel extension to conduct transactions off-chain to increase transaction speed and reduce fees, while maintaining the security and decentralization of the blockchain. Fiber Network supports multiple asset classes, and any RGB++ asset can be used for payment on FiberNetwork, except for CKB's native token. The overall architecture of Fiber Network includes core modules such as off-chain payment channel, on-chain contract, multi-hop routing and monitoring service. Currently, Fiber Network has completed the prototype development, realized the basic functions of creating, updating and closing the channel between two nodes, and also verified the function of doing cross-chain with Bitcoin Lightning Network.
