The U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued more than 1,000 warnings to crypto firms since the financial promotion rules came into effect on Oct. 8 last year, under which crypto firms must be registered with the FCA in order to promote them to U.K. customers, according to CoinDesk.

Lucy Castledine, director of consumer investment at the FCA, said in an interview that these actions have resulted in 48 apps being removed from local app stores in the UK.
