The three main U.S. stock indices closed sharply lower collectively, with popular tech stocks generally sinking
The three major indexes of U.S. stocks closed collectively lower, the Dow fell 2.6%, the Nasdaq fell 3.43%, and the SP 500 fell 3% to hit the biggest one-day drop since September 2022. Popular technology stocks generally fell, Nvidia, Intel fell more than 6%, Apple, Tesla, Google fell more than 4%, Apple hit the biggest one-day drop since September 2022, Microsoft fell more than 3%, the market value fell below $3 trillion, Meta fell more than 2%. Precious metals, semiconductors, and airlines sectors were the top losers, with Pan American Silver down more than 6%, U.S. Gold, United Continental Airlines down more than 5%, and Arm, Ultra Micro Computer, and Micron Technology down more than 2%.
