Legal expert: Uniswap's delayed vote once again proves that DeFi protocols treat token holders as "second-class" citizens
The Uniswap Foundation has delayed a critical vote that will determine whether to upgrade the protocol's governance structure and fee mechanism to better reward UNI governance token holders.Despite the Uniswap Foundation's apology and statement that this decision was "unexpected," it is not the first time that the vote on implementing "fee switching" has been delayed. This is also not the only instance where there has been a conflict of interest between token holders and other "stakeholders" of Uniswap.Gabriel Shapiro, a crypto legal expert, believes that this is another example of DeFi protocols treating token holders as "second-class" citizens, with their desires being subjugated to those of a small group of stakeholders.
