Trump: If re-elected as President, will "seriously consider" pardoning Julian Assange
PANews reported on May 28th, according to Bitcoin Magazine, former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if he were re-elected president, he would "seriously consider" pardoning Julian Assange.
Julian Assange is an Australian journalist and the founder of WikiLeaks, known for publishing a large number of confidential documents. In 2010, he was wanted by Sweden on charges of sexual misconduct but feared extradition to the United States and took refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy in London in 2012. In 2019, after Ecuador revoked his asylum status, Assange was arrested and is currently facing extradition requests from the United States along with multiple charges. Since April 2019, Assange has been held at Belmarsh Prison in London which has the highest security level.
