Nomura Securities, Laser Digital and GMO Internet plan to issue Japanese stablecoin
Golden Finance reported that Nomura Securities announced a cooperation with GMO Internet, the parent company of Laser Digital and GMO-Z. The two parties plan to jointly explore the issuance of U.S. dollar and Japanese yen stablecoins in Japan and provide stablecoin-as-a-service solutions in the Japanese market. It is reported that GMO-Z holds a New York State (NYDFS) trust license, the same license as stablecoin issuers Paxos and Gemini Trust. Its GYEN and ZUSD stablecoins are available on the Ethereum, Solana and Stellar blockchains.
