Filecoin Foundation Launches Temperature Checking and Crowdsourced Voting Tool Metropolis
On May 14th, the Filecoin Foundation announced the launch of Metropolis, a temperature check and crowdsourcing voting tool to enhance the governance of the Filecoin network. The tool was developed in partnership with Canvas Technologies. Metropolis makes it easier for community members to share their thoughts on Filecoin Improvement Proposals (FIPs) by using “positive” or “negative” descriptors to express their overall feelings about the proposal. The goal is to provide a temperature check so that FIP authors and core developers understand the community's overall preference for certain proposals earlier, which will help governance administrators more accurately guide proposals and ideas with the resources they require. Metropolis can also be used to support conducting community crowdsourced polls.
