BlackRock is nearing to become the world's largest Bitcoin fund, with a gap of less than 15,000 BTC in holdings compared to Grayscale GBTC
According to the Financial Times in the UK, BlackRock is close to becoming the world's largest Bitcoin fund. Since its launch four months ago, BlackRock's spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund has gained $16.7 billion in assets, trailing less than $1 billion behind market leader Grayscale, which has a 10-year and $28 billion lead. Rob Goldstein, Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock revealed that entering the Bitcoin market was a multi-year journey that was very well thought out with an aim to bring BlackRock's institutional quality into this ecosystem. According to official data from Grayscale as of May 13th, GBTC held approximately 289348.7762 BTC while IBIT from Blackrock held about 274755.1419 BTC as of May 10th; there is a difference of approximately 14593.6343 BTC between them.
