The 132nd Ethereum ACDC Conference: Discussion and coordination of changes to the Ethereum consensus layer, and progress in preparation for Pectra Devnet 0
PANews reported on April 19 that Christine Kim, vice president of research at Galaxy, published a document summarizing the 132nd Ethereum Core Developer Consensus (ACDC) conference call. Developers discussed changes to the Ethereum consensus layer (i.e., Beacon Chain) via Zoom. The meeting was hosted by Ethereum Foundation researcher Alex Stokes. Developers shared the preparation progress of the first Pectra developer test network (Pectra Devnet 0) and discussed some outstanding issues about the Pectra Devnet 0 specifications. In addition, the meeting briefly discussed two important research topics related to web distribution and data availability sampling. During the meeting, developers discussed issues regarding EIP 7251 (increasing the maximum effective balance) and EIP 7549 (moving the committee index), as well as how to deal with the mismatch between the old version consensus and the new specifications. Other discussions regarding the Electra upgrade include feedback and review of the proposal to simplify validator operations, as well as suggestions to increase the blob count in the Electra upgrade. The developers plan to discuss the proposals in depth in the coming weeks.
