Former Thodex crypto exchange boss sentenced to 11,196 years in prison for fraud
Former CEO of the Turkish cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, Faruk Fatih Ozer, has been sentenced to 11,196 years in prison for allegedly defrauding investors of millions of dollars. After the collapse of Thodex in 2021, Ozer fled to Albania with assets worth about $43 million belonging to investors. Last year, he was extradited back to Turkey on charges of money laundering, fraud, and organized crime. The court also charged Ozer's siblings and sentenced them to the same long-term imprisonment.
