JPMorgan: Concerns Raised Over USDT's Dominant Position
JPMorgan Chase stated that despite the encouraging recent growth in the total capital of the stablecoin market, the growing dominance of USDT has raised concerns. Analysts at JPMorgan Chase wrote in a report: "Given its lack of regulatory compliance and transparency, Tether faces the greatest risk. Therefore, we believe that the increase in Tether's concentration over the past year is negative for both the stablecoin universe and broader crypto ecosystem." The analysts said that issuers of stablecoins face regulatory risks worldwide. In America, The Stablecoin Clarity Act is under review; while in Europe, it is expected to partially implement Crypto Asset Market (MiCA) regulations by June this year. Those stablecoin issuers who strictly comply with existing regulations will benefit from upcoming regulatory reviews and may gain market share.
