One week after Nethermind breach, 6 per cent of node operators have replaced execution clients

Last week's software vulnerability in Ethermind's Nethermind client caused the validator to go offline for four hours, sparking concerns in the Ethermind community about the client's centralisation. As of today, an estimated 78 per cent of validators use Geth, which means that in just one week, about 6 per cent of node operators have switched execution clients. Coinbase Cloud has said it is looking at alternative options for other client-side execution layers and expects to provide more details in February, and another proof-of-equity validator and RPC node provider, P2P, has also moved to using Besu.
