JPMorgan: Probability of Spot Ethereum ETF Approval in May Is Not Over 50%
Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, Managing Director at JPMorgan, stated that the probability of the approval of a spot Ethereum ETF in May is not over 50%. He mentioned, "We think for the SEC to approve a spot Ethereum ETF in May, it needs to categorize Ethereum as a commodity (similar to Bitcoin) rather than a security. This is far from certain, and I think the probability of the SEC categorizing Ethereum as a commodity before May is not over 50%." According to Panigirtzoglou, the SEC may continue to treat all cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin as securities.
