BTC and ETH options worth a total of 1.6 billion dollars are about to expire
Analyst Adam@Greeks.live from X platform released the options settlement data for December 22, showing that 25,000 BTC options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.70, maximum pain point at $42,000 and a nominal value of $1.11 billion. Also, 217,000 ETH options are set to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.60, maximum pain point at $2,200 and a nominal value of $490 million.
Adam@Greeks.live's analysis suggests that this week cryptocurrencies have been fluctuating at high levels while the inscription market continues its trend; lending rates continue to rise as large amounts of protective put options transactions occur - all signs pointing towards potential crash risks. From the option data we can see that there has been significant shift in positions towards next year's terms on a larger scale than usual due to potential expectations for ETFs which resulted in January's holdings being significantly higher than previous years; massive position shifting is still ongoing.
